I'm Darryel Carr and I'm seeking to be elected Sheriff of Georgetown County. I am an involved and concerned citizen of this county and have been for more than ten years. I am a devoted husband and father of three. My wife Sharon is an Administrative Assistant and Grant Writer at Baskerville Adult Programs and Services. In addition, she is Vice President of the family business, D.C. Auto Body in Pawleys Island. In 1999 I earned an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice. I am presently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration.

In June of 1992, I joined the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office as a deputy. During my tenure I rose to the rank of Sergeant. In addition I served as traffic supervisor and shift sergeant. I was an investigator with the Narcotics Investigations Team.

As Sheriff, I will promote a new partnership with all citizens based on a renewed focus of strategies. Strategies that will help prevent crime and improve the quality of life in our communities. With your help, I will provide proven leadership by combining traditional law enforcement and innovative techniques.

I have a strong faith and belief in public safety. As a committed member of this county I am dedicated to knowing the public's needs. I can ensure you quality service and accountability. I am committed to taking a positive leadership role in each community to reach and maintain high "Public Safety" standards.
