Meet Kylon in a Community Forum for School Board Chair sponsored by the League of Women Voters. 6:00 p.m.,  Location - VFW on Church Street.

October 26, 2004

The Waccamaw High School PTSA in conjunction with the League of Women Voters will sponsor a School Board Candidate's Forum at Wacammaw High School in the Auditorium. 6:00pm

We have the facilities, the faculty and staff, and the resources within our school district to give every student a high quality education.

Excellence depends on several things:

• empowering the Superintendent to run the District with no interference from the Board;
  
  

• equipping the Board with the necessary training, so that we can make policies that support what goes on inside and around the classroom;
  
  

• enabling principals to be free to explore programs and initiatives that will make each individual school an exciting place to work and learn;
  
  

• supporting the classroom teacher, so that he/she will know that he/she is valued and has the full backing of the District to carry out outstanding instruction in the classroom;
  
  

• exciting the student who comes to school because the atmosphere is inviting and the classroom experience is engaging;
  
  

• engaging the parents and community who become connected with the schools through regular communications and active involvement in school activities and functions.
